| Description: | Founded in 1955, the CartoPhilatelic Society was formed to promote the collection and study of stamps relating to maps and cartography. The journal of the Society, The New CartoPhilatelist, is published quarterly. The Society maintains the Maps on Stamps Checklist, a comprehensive list containing over 24,000 map stamp entries. Active members, both online and off work on a number of research projects and hold yearly meetings. |
